Design, Construction Management, Coordination of Safety and fire prevention. Expansion of retail outlet in Historic building. The expansion has been achieved through the merger of several building units and connecting the ground floor to the first. The age of the building, the need to build large open spaces in an existing load-bearing masonry structure and the will expressed by the operator to connect the two floors with a sliding stair, has led to the demolition of load-bearing walls and a portion of floor and the building of new metallic structures. Further difficulties encountered during the intervention were that structural works were carried out below inhabited apartments as well as the central location of the building also in a high pedestrian transit zone. An efficient safety and security coordination was required in order to avoid accidents during work and in the early stages of procurement of carpentry and other construction materials. Competence and professionalism have allowed to complete a project of this entity in a short period of time. Due to the fact that the property is subject to Fire Prevention Certification, our office also recovered and prepared all the necessary documentation and submitted the dossier so as to obtain the aforementioned CPI .
